i’d like to visit this place

one day

we will have a cabin in the woods

and we’ll tell stories to our kids and their kids about this fast paced life we used to lead, while sipping hot cocoa that’s overwhelmed with tons of tiny, gooey marshmallows and laughing about the simplicity of just being.

and perhaps we’ll even have a swing like this to push each other on in the lightly falling snow, basking in the delight of being together and not having to worry about anything.

how perfect would this be? a day in the sun with friends and loved ones, splashing in the river and taking breaks to sneak away into the cabin for snacks and into the woods for kisses and getting drunk off of laughter and life and good friends and good whiskey. floating downstream in tubes when we got too tired. we’d build a bonfire on one of the little inlets and roast marshmallows until they’re soft and sticky and oozing with the fat sweetness of themselves.

i can imagine taking the most epic baths in this room. can you tell that i kind of really want a place in the woods to call our own?

our Burton rep hooked us up with an amazing cabin for the night of the party. there was this room where everyone else slept, then three other bedrooms with normal human beds for h & i, the rep, and his twin. 

so much fun. more photos to come.

really looking forward to some of this in the near future.

someday we’ll have a room like this, in our cabin on the water. and we’ll fall asleep here under the stars, and wake up to the glorious sunrise.

and then go back into our cabin and entangle our limbs into each others and fall back to sleep in a darker room.

tranquil.

one day i will help to build us a cabin. and one of the rooms will look exactly like this. full of light and cozy and welcoming. and we’ll spend hours lounging here and watching the sun rise and set and the stars coming out to play and discussing life and making love and laughing about our happiness at length until we are sated with the delight of each others company and drift off into the most peaceful slumber known to man.
