back in boston with my favorite pup! practicing getting into handstand with stag legs. still not enough control to properly arrange my legs (split hard and get legs into 90 degree angles!) but closer today than I’ve ever been before 🎉 my favorite thing about #yoga is seeing how I progress in these poses along the way… practice makes perfect! handstands are also one of the best full body workouts you can do as they increase your circulation, decrease production of the stress hormone cortisol, and assist with breathing, as well as being an amazing core, arm, shoulder, leg, and back strengthener! start practicing handstands by kicking up against a wall and holding for 5-10 seconds. if you practice 3x a day you’ll see an increase in strength after only a couple weeks 🙌💪

#stopdropandyoga! practicing my forearm variations today at the beach. the unsteadiness of the sand makes it an even better core workout 👌#yoga (at South Carlsbad Beach)

bound wheel pose stretches and strengthens your shoulders, back, arms, and legs (great for relieving the stress of sitting at a desk!). this pose also stretch your lungs and diaphragm, helping you breathe better every day! plus this pose is great for increasing positive energy 💥👌 #yoga

haven’t been very consistent with my #yoga practice recently, so today i woke up early to practice my upward staff pose (urdhva dandasana) and to do an easy morning flow routine! this pose strengthens your abs, legs, arms, and spine, and calms your brain 💆 perfect way to start the day for anyone who is NOT a morning person (i know i sure ain’t!)

haven’t had a ton of time to work out the past couple of days, so it feels great to get a bit of #yoga practice in this morning. first time attempting this pose today, next time with bend my legs more, arch my back further, and look up! 😜😁 (at Renaissance Long Beach Hotel)

starting the morning in a headstand flushes fresh nutrients and oxygen to the face, which creates a glowing effect on your skin. headstands also flush and detoxify our adrenal glands, which increases positive thought, and decreases depression. all this and an amazing core strengthening exercise! #yoga

Anonymous said: i'm droooooling over all the amazing food you eat. how do you eat so much and stay so fit?!

i love cooking!!! and eating, as you can see haha

i do tend to eat massive amounts. and often slack on the working out unfortunately.. but i’ve been blessed with an incredible metabolism (thanks mom & dad & universe) and i’m really not as fit as you think i am. clothing does wonders to hide my problem areas.. (go away lower belly chub! GO AWAY)

but also i DO try to force myself to work out on a semi-regular basis. before tradeshow season i was going to bikram yoga every day. now that the craziness has died down somewhat i’m going to start again! 90 minutes in a 105 degree room constantly doing yoga will make you feel like you’re going to die but tone you up and make you feel amazing after! i recommend it to anyone who hasn’t yet tried. i’ve dragged a bunch of my friends there with me, and will keep dragging people with me until i have no one left to bring. it’s really such an amazing emotional and physical work out!

and i try to limit myself to only ONE splurge meal a day (usually supper). so for breakfast i’ll have a smoothie and maybe some granola and yogurt or a granola bar or something like that, and then for lunch a sandwich or soup or salad.. and then i get to eat my little piggy heart out for dinner. also weekends are health-food free zones for the most part.
